Local Employment Requirements
The licensing process for engineers is administered by the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). At least one year of work experience must be obtained in a Canadian jurisdiction. It is illegal to use a title containing the term
"Engineer" without being licensed as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.). It is possible to work in engineering without being licensed, but the work must be supervised by a licensed engineer.
