Trade certification is available and voluntary for cooks in Ontario. Certified journeypersons in this trade can also obtain a Red Seal endorsement if they successfully complete an interprovincial standard Red Seal examination. (http://www.red-seal.ca/).
Apprenticeship Grants (Apprenticeship Incentive Grant and Apprenticeship Completion Grant) provide up to $4,000 for eligible registered apprentices in Red Seal designated occupations.
