Most contractors and supervisors have opportunities to join professional associations which offer safety and technical or trades training. For example, some supervisors and contractors are required to upgrade training in first aid, confined space entry, fall arrest and other occupational health and safety measures. The Canadian Roofing Contractors Association offers training about how to use water vapours and install upside down roofs. Training costs for supervisors are usually paid for by their employers.
