Employment prospects for Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers are expected to be GOOD in 2011-2012.
Demand in this occupation has increased over the past few years as a result of growth in wireless technologies. Employment opportunities are better for experienced individuals in areas such as programming, software development and security. New companies often employ software developers on contract basis to develop software for their business while existing businesses look for individuals who can adapt software compatible with their current technology internally.
In addition to local employment opportunities, opportunities may exist in other areas of the province, or in other regions of the country. Individuals that are interested in working elsewhere should research opportunities in other Labour Markets.
