They are employed by restaurants, cafes, hotels, fast food outlets, cafeterias, hospitals and other establishments.

- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans using dishwasher or by hand
- Place dishes in storage area
- Scour pots and pans, and may clean and polish silverware.
