- The RCMP detachment in Buchans will be phased out over the next three months
- The provincial government Dept. of Innovation, Business and Rural Development has announced the consolidation of 20 programs to two umbrella funds to create more flexibility to meet client needs
Week of Apr 01 – Apr 05, 2013
- Thirteen people will be laid off at the Rooms in St. John's due to budget cuts
- The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Association and the provincial government have ratified the collective agreement reached on March 20, 2013
Week of Mar 25 – Mar 29, 2013
- The provincial government announced a $3.6M loan to Carino Processing Limited of South Dildo for the purchase of seals from the 2013 harvest
- Four crown prosecutors in St. John's provincial court office were laid off as a result of budget cuts. Three of these lawyers were trial prosecutors.
- The Family Violence Intervention Court in St. John's has closed due to budget cuts. One employee has been laid off and more are expected.
