Local Employment Requirements
In order to become a Secondary School Teacher you must possess an undergraduate degree in any discipline, followed by a bachelor's degree in education. You can complete both degrees simultaneously by completing a BA and B.Ed under the concurrent education program. They also require a provincial teaching certificate from the Office of Teacher Certification. Secondary school teachers may specialize in such areas as Mathematics, English, French, special education or second language instruction.
