- Armco Capital Inc. expects to begin work on a subdivision near McCabe Lake in Middle Sackville in May 2013
- Construction is expected to begin in the spring or early summer of 2013 on a new recreational and competitive rowing centre on Lochaber Lake
- Marinus Verhagen Enterprises Ltd. will begin building an asbestos disposal facility in McLellans Brook this spring and open it later in 2013
- The federal government will contribute to infrastructure projects in Cape Breton, including work on community centres, fire halls, and trails

- McNally Construction Inc. will design and build a replacement for the fendering system at the Digby Ferry terminal. It is not known when work will begin.
- Work will begin in April on a new 40-unit senior apartment complex being developed near Shelburne by the Atlantic Baptist Senior Citizens Homes Inc.
- Federal funding has been announced for wharf and breakwater projects at Jones Harbour in Shelburne County and New Harbour in Guysborough County
- A new fisheries office and storage facility will be constructed at the Millbrook First Nation over the next few weeks
- The $20M expansion of the Debert Home Hardware store, due to be finished by March 2014, is expected to create local construction jobs. The store employs more than 250 workers.
