Week of May 06 – May 10, 2013
- The Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal (MBAM) will build a new pavilion that will be inaugurated in 2017. This project will require an investment estimated at more than $100M. (available in French only)
- Hydro Culture invests $2M in Beloeil and creates 15 new jobs (available in French only)
- Buropro buys Papeterie Expert in Saint-Hyacinthe and creates 25 jobs (available in French only)
- Boréalis in Magog, which specializes in information technology, has relocated after a $2.5M investment. Construction of a new building on the same grounds is envisioned given that, in the next 5 years, 100 new employees will be hired.
- The provincial government will invest $1.3B into road infrastructures for the Montréal region in the next couple of years; more than 80 construction sites will be located on the island. (available in French only)
- Tourtist attraction Le Jardin des Glaciers of Baie-Comeau will shut down. Four permanent positions will be lost and forty-some seasonal workers will not be called back this summer. (available in French only)
- Ville de Montréal announces a street kitchen pilot project, starting June 20, 2013. Thirty-some food trucks will sell their meals in 17 downtown areas. (available in French only)

- Les Planchers bois franc Wickman is investing $5.5M to ensure its competitiveness in a very competitive market while securing 120 jobs. Four new positions will be created. (available in French only)

- Sawmill Bois Champigny of Potton has gone bankrupt since April 19. Thirty-some jobs were lost. (available in French only)
- More than fifty-some positions need to be filled within Cascades' plants, a manufacturer of packaging products and papers mainly made up of recycled fibers (available in French only)
- Chocolats Favoris opens its new branch on boulevard de l'Ormière in Québec. The investment totals a few hundred thousand dollars and will contribute to the creation of forty-some jobs. (available in French only)
- Fifteen-some positions of various nature need to be filled at Machinage Piché in Daveluyville, a manufacturer of wood handling equipment (available in French only)

- In Mont-Joli, Armoires Canboard had to use the services of a placement agency to meets its labour needs. The company is still looking for nearly a dozen daytime labourers. (available in French only)
- Clôtures Inovart, a new aluminum fence manufacturing company, has recently opened its doors in Bois-des-Filion. The company employs nearly a dozen people and plans to hire more. (available in French only)
- Messier-Bugatti-Dowty, a manufacturer of landing gears, has inaugurated its new plant in Mirabel. Construction required a $58M investment and will lead to the creation of 60 new jobs to its current roster of 265 jobs. (available in French only)
Week of Apr 15 – Apr 19, 2013
- Bock Equipment, which has four stores in Québec, including one in Lévis, is closing after declaring bankruptcy. About 15 people in Lévis are losing their job. (available in French only)
- Métal Duquet, located in Saint-Côme-Linière (in the Beauce region), has just expanded its plant. The investment will enable the company to stabilize its production. Eight to 10 jobs will be created by the end of next year. (available in French only)
- DBO Expert, a distributor of wastewater treatment technologies, has invested $690,000 to renovate its facilities in Sherbrooke. In addition to the 10 jobs being consolidated, three new positions have been created and three more are expected. (available in French only)
- Quinco & Cie in Magog, which specializes in the design of self-adhesive wall tiles, is investing $866,450 to purchase new equipment. In addition to the 20 or so jobs being consolidated, 10 new positions are expected in the short term. (available in French only)
- Rotec International of Baie-du-Febvre, which specializes in the production of adjustable electric beds, is investing $639,000 to optimize its production processes. Some 70 jobs will be consolidated as a result. (available in French only)
- Claude Joyal, a company that sells and repairs farm equipment, has purchased the Elphège Boissonneault garage in Lyster. More than $800,000 has been invested there to set up a showroom and to store parts. (available in French only)
- PhasOptx Telecom will be opening a new branch in Disraeli (in the Appalaches regional county municipality) in 2014. The project will generate $10 M in spending and should create 120 jobs over the next three years. Hiring is expected to start in the fall. (available in French only)
- Sixpro in Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil, the largest paint coating subcontractor in Quebec, is investing $2M to purchase state-of-the art equipment. Roughly a dozen new jobs should be created. (available in French only)
- The Maxi supermarket located in the Galeries Laurentides in Saint-Jérôme will move into the space formerly occupied by Zellers in the fall of 2013 after spending over $2M on renovations. The new location offers double the square footage. (available in French only)
- Hewitt Equipment Ltd., an authorized Caterpillar dealer, is opening a training centre on the West Island of Montreal. The estimated value of the project is $8M. (available in French only)
- Soucy Plastiques in Drummondville, a subcontractor supplying contractors in the recreational, military, agricultural and transport sectors, is investing $600,000 in state-of-the art equipment (available in French only)
- A number of businesses in various industries in the Stanstead area are seeking to fill 15 positions (available in French only)
- Pharmascience Inc., a drug manufacturer, is opening its new distribution centre in Dorval following a $4M investment. The move is part of an initial expansion and modernization phase for the company's plants in Montréal. The value of the project is $41M. (available in French only)
- A new micro-brewery will be opening in Farnham in mid-July (available in French only)
- Roughly a hundred people are without work following a two-month production shutdown at the Saint-Elzéar forestry cooperative (available in French only)
- Sixty or so additional engineers will be working on Ciment McInnis's project in Port-Daniel-Gascons by this summer (available in French only)
- Méridien Maritime in Matane will be building bridges, employing at least 30 additional workers (available in French only)
- In Rouyn-Noranda, Xstrata Copper's Horne smelter has announced that it will be investing $150M in its recycling plant up to 2016, creating some 30 jobs (available in French only)

- Les Comptoirs Germain has spent $1.3M on a new building in Laval in order to relocate its plant and thereby increase its production capacity. It currently employs about a dozen people. (available in French only)
- The new IGA Crevier grocery store in Terrebonne opened on April 17. The store required a $10M investment; 50 new jobs will be added to the 70 existing ones. (available in French only)
