University professors perform some or all of the following duties:
  • Teach one or more university subjects to undergraduate and graduate students
  • Prepare and deliver lectures to students and conduct laboratory sessions or discussion groups

  • Advise students on course and academic matters and career decisions
  • Direct research programs of graduate students and advise on research matters

It is estimated that there are approximately 450 jobs in this occupational group in the Mauricie region, where the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) is located. The institution offers clinical professors positions, a concept in which instructors are assigned to provide training, such as podiatric or chiropractic training, in a university clinic. The UQTR is also opening more than 120 spaces for research assistants. Moreover, the school has a Université de Montréal health building on campus and offers a Doctor of Medicine program, the first fully delocalized medical program at a Canadian university.
